Advocates & Regulatory Counsel · New Delhi
Counsel for the rules still being written.
Nomera Law is a firm of advocates and regulatory counsel in New Delhi. We advise on, and argue, the law of new technology: AI and digital markets, fintech, space and deep tech, and climate.
Reason. Regulation. Remedy.
The gap
Every new technology arrives before its law does.
A satellite is launched before the rules for its data are settled. A lending app reaches millions of people before anyone has tested its contracts in court. A company trains a model on data whose ownership no statute has yet decided.
For a while, the technology and the law live in different times. That gap is where most of the hard questions sit, and it is where we practise.
Our work is to read the new rule closely, to say plainly what it asks of you, and, when a regulator acts, to answer in the forum the law provides.

Method
How we work
Reason.
We begin with the text. What does the law say, what was it meant to do, and which rights must it respect? New rules rarely come with settled answers, so we work from first principles.
Regulation.
Rules change as a sector grows. We follow them as they are made, and explain what each change means for you, so that compliance becomes part of how the product is built.
Remedy.
When a regulator acts, there is usually a way to answer: a reply, an appeal, a petition. We help you choose the right one, and take it to the right forum.
The name
Why Nomera
Nomera joins two words. Nomos is the Greek word for law, and for the order a law creates. An era is a new period of time.
Together they describe what we do: law for a new era. Order for systems that are new enough that no court has yet named the rules they live by.
